How to Keep Your Job Search Organized

The JobFinder enables you to search hundreds of job and company websites. What does this mean? It means you can easily find one hundred or more jobs that you want to apply for. Go right ahead and start applying, but first familiarize yourself with a feature we like to refer to as the Custom Notes. These notes are your key to keeping your job search organized, well-run, and successful. How so?

You can keep track of just about anything related to your job search and the job in question. For example:

Resume Sent: When you apply for a job via the JobFinder, you will notice the job changed colors in your headline. This feature makes it easy to know which jobs you already applied to so that you don't send your resume twice. But wouldn't you also like to know when you applied to that job, which resume you sent, and so forth. You can do so by creating a custom note.

Interview Scheduled: Now, you want to have a calendar nearby devoted to job interviews. After all, nothing is worse then missing an interview for a well-paying job, but you can also keep track of this information by creating a custom note. So you received an interview for seasonal help at Macy's, your job notes will look something like this by now: Applied for Job on October 27, 2009, Got Call About Interview on October 29, Interview Scheduled for 10am on November 5th.

These are just a couple of the ways that you can use the Custom Notes features on the JobFinder. If you want to gather more information on a company before applying, write "Gather More Information." If you want to apply after you have finished your 3-day online typing course, write "Apply After Finishing Course," and so forth.
